Clinton County is authorized to charge an extra 1% sales and use tax on taxable purchases. This is added to the county’s 3% base rate, for a 4% local rate. The authorization is in place from December 1, 2007 through November 30, 2027. Shoppers pay more tax on taxable items bought in the county during this period.
