New eviction filing protection for Schenectady renters
In Schenectady, eviction petitions must state there is proof that the rental property meets local registration and licensing rules. This applies only where local law requires registration or licensing as a condition of legal rental. The requirement applies to the person seeking eviction, not the tenant. The law takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
