Schenectady evictions need rental registration proof

In the City of Schenectady, eviction papers in a summary proceeding must state that the landlord followed any local rental registration or license rule that applies, and allege proof of that compliance. This applies only if the home is subject to a local rule that requires registration or licensure to rent. Beginning 90 days after enactment, courts apply this requirement. This gives tenants another way to challenge an eviction when the home was not properly registered.
