Cortland can keep extra 1% sales tax

The law extends Cortland County’s power to add 1% to its local sales tax through November 30, 2027. This is on top of the county’s 3% local rate, for a total local rate of 4%. When this local tax is in effect, shoppers pay 1% more on taxable purchases and businesses must collect it. To estimate your cost, multiply your yearly taxable purchases in Cortland County by 0.01.
