Cortland County’s extra sales tax authority extended

Effective April 11, 2025, the law extends Cortland County’s extra sales tax authority through November 30, 2027. The previous deadline was November 30, 2025. The extra 1% tax brings the county rate to 4%, including its authorized 3% base rate. The county must adopt or amend a local law, ordinance, or resolution to impose the extra tax on taxable purchases.
