Newburgh hotel tax authority lasts through 2027

Effective immediately, the law extends the Town of Newburgh’s authority to tax hotel and motel stays. The authority now expires December 23, 2027, instead of December 23, 2025. The law sets no tax rate and does not require the town to impose the tax. If the town imposes it, guests face an added cost on taxable stays.
