Brookhaven church can file late property tax exemption

The Town of Brookhaven assessor accepts a late application for a property tax exemption from Calvary Full Gospel Assembly of God. It applies only to the parcel at 777 Sipp Avenue, East Patchogue (district 0200, section 927.00, block 01.00, lot 023.005) for the 2023–2024 assessment rolls. The assessor reviews it as if it was filed on time, and the Town Board must approve any exemption. If approved, the tax rolls are corrected. The town may refund taxes and any fines paid, and may cancel unpaid taxes.
