3 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 1 costs, 1 mixed.
If a judge changes the order after review, any payments you already made that are more than the new amount count as a credit. The court must apply those overpayments to reduce your future support bills.
You have 30 days to file written objections if you got the order in court or by personal service, or 35 days from the court’s mailing or electronic transmission if you did not. A non-party over 18 must serve your objections on the other side, and you must file proof of service with the court. The other side has 13 days from that service to file a written rebuttal, which also must be served by a non-party over 18 with proof filed. A judge must act within 35 days after you file (or after the rebuttal window closes). While review is pending, the magistrate’s order stays in effect and is not paused.
An appeal must be taken by the earliest of: 30 days after a party or the child’s lawyer serves the order on you; 30 days from when you receive the order in court; or 35 days from the clerk’s mailing or electronic transmission. Every appealable order must clearly state these appeal deadlines and the earliest date. If the court serves the order, the appeal clock does not start unless the order includes that clear statement and the court record shows the date and how it was served.
