Veterans get help finding volunteer roles

Beginning on the 90th day after enactment, the state veterans’ agency posts volunteer openings for veterans on its website. Listings include roles at the Department and with volunteer fire and emergency services providers. The site includes application forms and ways to ask for more information. Local veterans’ offices must also tell veterans and service members about these openings and help them apply.

Start date set and immediate rulemaking allowed

The law begins on the 90th day after enactment. Agencies can add, change, or repeal needed rules right away and finish them by the start date. This sets when duties start and lets agencies be ready on time.
