The law extends the Department of Environmental Conservation’s authority to manage hickory shad through December 31, 2028. The department can make rules on fishing, harvest, and conservation for this fish statewide. This applies to commercial and recreational fishers who must follow state rules. The law takes effect immediately. It does not add new funding or set harvest limits in the statute.
