The law keeps New York’s interstate juvenile supervision and return system in place through September 1, 2030. On September 1, 2030, the 1955 compact rules return as they existed on June 1, 2010. Plans made earlier under the old compact stay valid. Services and returns are not disrupted. New York can also agree with non-compact states to supervise or return certain juveniles. This applies to juveniles on probation or parole who ran away or escaped and endangered safety.
