Political committees must label websites

Political committees must show "Paid for by: [name]" on their public websites. The notice must be clear and easy to see. It must appear on every page a visitor can reach. This applies when the committee pays for, hosts, or runs the site. These rules take effect 60 days after enactment.

Rules for online political ads and sites

The law updates what counts as an independent expenditure online. It covers a public-facing website, any communication to 500 or more people, or a paid digital ad aimed at 50 or more people. The message must urge people to "vote," "support," "elect," "defeat," or "reject," or name a candidate or ballot proposal. Naming counts on or after January 1 of the election year, or within 60 days before a general or special election, or 30 days before a primary. General internet posts are excluded unless they are paid ads or committee-run public websites. It does not count if a candidate, party, or their committees helped make the message. These rules take effect 60 days after enactment.
