State park farmers markets get more promotion

Effective immediately, New York’s parks office must promote farmers markets in state parks, not local parks. Eligible markets must sell farm and food products as defined by state agriculture law. Promotion applies only to markets that do not harm the natural environment or the park’s integrity. The office must post market locations and hours online and look for more state park locations. It must coordinate with other state agencies, including Empire State Development and the Department of Agriculture and Markets. The law adds no funding or direct household payments.
