Warren County mortgage tax authority lasts longer

The law extends Warren County's authority to charge an extra mortgage recording tax through December 1, 2027. The prior expiration date was December 1, 2025. Households recording mortgages there may pay this tax if the county imposes it. The extension itself does not impose the tax or set its rate.

Warren County reduces dedicated college funding

The law removes Warren County from rules directing specified mortgage tax receipts toward county expenses for community colleges. This reduces the tax receipts set aside by law for those expenses; no dollar amount is specified. The law takes effect immediately, with a later version of the funding rule starting when the earlier version expires.
