Effective immediately, this law extends Yates County’s extra sales and use tax authority from November 30, 2025, through November 30, 2027. The extra 1% brings the county rate to 4%, above its otherwise allowed 3%. The county must adopt or amend a local law, ordinance, or resolution to impose the extra tax. This law alone does not mean the tax is being collected. When imposed, the extra tax adds to the cost of taxable purchases subject to the county tax.
