Chenango mortgage tax extended, funds to county

Chenango County keeps charging an extra mortgage recording tax when you record a mortgage there. Starting 60 days after enactment, this authority runs through December 31, 2027. If you buy or refinance in Chenango County, you pay this extra tax at closing. The county treasurer receives this tax money and must deposit it in the county general fund, effective immediately.
