Tier 3 members of the New York City Fire Department Pension Fund get a normal pension after 20 years of service. There is no minimum age once you reach 20 years. At 20 years, the normal pension pays 50% of your final average salary; before, it was about 42%. The law applies these state retirement changes to NYC’s pension code (chapter 3 of title 13), despite section 13-379. It takes effect immediately.
