The law extends New York’s deadline to give land to the U.S. for the Gateway National Recreation Area. Lands must be conveyed on or before June 30, 2027 (was June 30, 2025). It only changes timing, not which lands or the park’s purpose. Federal management changes happen after the transfer, which can now occur any time up to June 30, 2027. This does not change your taxes or benefits.
