Shoppers pay extra 1% in Jefferson County

Beginning December 1, 2015, Jefferson County adds an extra 1% local sales tax on taxable purchases. This is on top of the county’s 3% sales tax, for a 4% county rate. The tax applies through November 30, 2027. Sellers in Jefferson County must collect the extra 1% on each taxable sale.
