Genesee mortgage recording tax continues to 2027

Genesee County keeps the authority to charge a mortgage recording tax. If you record a mortgage in the county, you are subject to any county mortgage recording tax in effect. The extension takes effect immediately and runs through November 1, 2027. The law does not change tax rates or how the tax is calculated.
