The law lets school districts, BOCES, and special‑act school districts pay court‑ordered costs from child sexual abuse cases under CPLR 214‑g over up to 30 years. It overrides the usual Local Finance Law limits for these cases. It changes when the money is paid, not who owes or how much. Local budgets and taxes can spread these costs over time. This takes effect immediately.
