Authorizes the city of Batavia to alienate certain parklands for use as a municipal parking lot and to preserve the historic Brisbane mansion

Batavia parkland can become free municipal parking

The law lets Batavia remove about 1.580 acres from park use and sell or transfer it at fair market value. The land is for free municipal parking and preserving the historic Brisbane mansion for residential or hotel use. The city’s governing body sets the terms. The city must dedicate at least the land’s fair market value to new parkland, major park improvements, or recreation facility improvements. If federal money helped buy, maintain, or improve the land, Batavia must meet federal requirements before removing or transferring it. This includes satisfying the Interior Secretary that replacement land has equal market value and usefulness, with conditions preserving the original parkland’s function, value, and usefulness. The law took effect immediately.
