Chenango County can keep extra sales tax

Effective immediately, this law extends Chenango County’s extra 1% sales and use tax authority from November 30, 2025, through November 30, 2027. The extra tax stays on top of the otherwise authorized 3% county rate; this is not a new rate increase. The county must adopt or amend a local law, ordinance, or resolution to impose it. When imposed, the extra tax costs buyers $1 for every $100 in taxable purchases.
