Parkland returns if casino not built

If Bally's gets the license but does not start building the casino within 15 years of this law’s effective date, the sold and roadway parcels return to NYC Parks and the access‑road easement ends. If the land is ever used for other purposes than those allowed, it also reverts to park use.

NYC can sell Ferry Point parkland for casino

The law lets New York City stop using about 26.76 acres of Ferry Point Park as parkland. It allows selling 15.73 acres at fair market value to Bally's for a casino and related uses, giving 9.61 acres to the city transportation department for roads, and granting a 1.42‑acre access‑road easement. This only happens if Bally's gets a state gaming‑facility license. The city must set aside at least the land and easement’s fair market value to buy new parkland or make capital improvements in Bronx parks. The access road must stay open to the public for park use, and Bally's must restore any surface damage in the easement area.
