The law extends Columbia County’s authority to add an extra 1% local sales and use tax through November 30, 2027. This 1% is on top of the county’s 3% rate. The county must pass a local law, ordinance, or resolution to impose it. If imposed, purchases in the county pay 1% more local sales tax; the county portion totals 4%. The act takes effect immediately.
