Parties can challenge enrollments without county committees

If you are enrolled in a party, another enrolled member in your county can file a written complaint about your enrollment. The county party chair holds a hearing with at least two days’ notice, in person or by mail; in counties with no county committee, a person elected by the state committee by majority vote at a meeting with a quorum handles it. After the hearing, that person (or a sub-committee they appoint) can find you are not in sympathy with the party’s principles. A duly enrolled voter can ask the Supreme Court at least 10 days before a primary to cancel your enrollment, and the court cancels it if the record supports the finding and it is just. The law takes effect immediately.
