2 provisions identified: 1 benefits, 0 costs, 1 mixed.

Clear installment dates on tax bills

If your property or school taxes can be paid in parts, your bill must say so. It must list each installment due date that avoids interest and penalties. The bill must also tell you that you may choose installments, as allowed by your county’s local law. This helps you plan payments and avoid late fees.

When the new bill rules start

This law is in effect now and is treated as in force on and after September 27, 2024. The new bill-disclosure rules start on the same date as the 2024 installment-payments law: the 120th day after that law became law. Until then, your tax bill may not show the new due-date details. After that date, bills must use the new format.
