The law classifies pistol converters as rapid-fire modification devices. They are treated like bump stocks and similar gear, with the same penalties for making, selling, or owning them. The definition also covers any device designed to speed up the rate of fire of a semi-automatic firearm, rifle, or shotgun. It takes effect the same day the 2024 pistol converter law (S.7365-B/A.10053-A) takes effect. This tightens rules on makers, sellers, and owners and adds public safety protections.
