The Purchase College board of trustees must split lease money under this law. 75% goes to financial aid for New York resident students who qualify for a federal Pell Grant or New York tuition assistance or supplemental aid under Education Law 667 or 667-a. 25% supports current and new full-time faculty positions at Purchase College. This rule covers only proceeds from leases authorized by this law. The law takes effect immediately.
Any contracts or leases between SUNY and the Purchase College Advancement Corporation under this law need state sign-offs. The Attorney General must approve the form. The Director of the Budget and the State Comptroller must also approve. This oversight applies now.
