Albany County mortgage recording tax authority extended

The law extends Albany County’s authority to impose a mortgage recording tax on property in the county. The authority now expires December 1, 2027, instead of December 1, 2025. Homeowners and others recording covered mortgage obligations may pay the tax if the county chooses to impose it. This law does not set a new tax rate or amount.
