When you buy taxable goods in Orange County, you pay an extra 0.75% county sales tax. This is on top of the 3% county rate, for a total county rate up to 3.75%. The authority to charge this added rate is in effect through November 30, 2027.
From December 1, 2025 to November 30, 2027, the net revenue from the extra 0.75% sales tax is paid to Orange County. The county must use it only for county purposes. These funds are not shared under revenue distribution agreements during that period.
