The law extends Oswego’s authority for an extra 1% sales and use tax from November 30, 2025, to November 30, 2027. This is on top of the otherwise allowed 3% city rate, allowing a total city rate of 4%. Purchasers pay the extra tax on taxable sales and use-tax transactions in the city only when Oswego adopts or amends a local measure imposing it. The full authorization period runs from September 1, 2004, through November 30, 2027. The law takes effect immediately.
