Makes technical changes to the aid to localities budget

New York funds underserved community services

The law provides $90 million for underserved community services through New York’s Department of State for 2025–26. It takes effect immediately and applies retroactively to April 1, 2025. The Asian American Federation receives $15 million, replacing the Asian American Foundation as the named recipient. The Coalition for Asian American Children and Families, Catholic Charities Community Services of the Archdiocese of New York, and Fund for the City of New York each receive $15 million. New York Urban League, United Way of Greater New York, and Local Initiatives Support Corporation each receive $10 million. The money supports community programs, crisis intervention, housing help, economic development, job training, education, and health services. Funding is available despite conflicting provisions of State Finance Law sections 163 and 112 or other laws. The law does not establish direct household payments or a specific individual eligibility formula.
