The law changes the Mamaroneck Public Library District board to between 5 and 15 members. Trustees are elected by district voters to three-year terms, with a limit of three terms in a row. At its first regular meeting, the board sets staggered terms by lot: 3 end after one year, 4 after two years, and 4 after three years. Each term starts on June 1 after the election. Only qualified district voters can serve as trustees. Each year the board chooses a president and vice-president from its members. The board may appoint a clerk and a treasurer who are not trustees and pay them. Vacancies are filled at the annual election. The law takes effect immediately.
