Expanded sports eligibility for Syracuse high schoolers
Effective immediately, the law expands sports eligibility at the Syracuse Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics high school. Students qualify if they competed in high school sports for a district other than Syracuse City in seventh or eighth grade. They can compete in that same sport for four consecutive seasons, starting in ninth grade and ending before graduation. Students remain enrolled in their home school district. Syracuse City School District issues their diploma when they complete the high school's program.
