Broader residency options for Baxter Estates clerks
The law lets Baxter Estates allow its village clerk-treasurer or deputy clerk to live outside the village. The village board must approve this exception by resolution. The officeholder must live in Nassau County or an adjoining county within New York State. The law took effect immediately upon enactment. It does not change residency rules for other village offices or other villages.
