Youth court divisions in every county

The law creates a youth court division in the superior court of every county, effective immediately. These divisions handle almost all cases for juvenile and adolescent offenders, unless another law says otherwise. Judges must be family court judges or superior court judges the court system deems qualified based on training and experience. They must get training in juvenile justice, teen development, youth care, and proven treatment methods to reduce unlawful conduct. Judges in these divisions can use the full powers of the superior court for the youth cases assigned to them.
