Prosecutors must notify absent felony victims

The law requires the district attorney or a designee to send a written summary of the result in any felony case. This applies when the victim was not in court at sentencing or after a trial acquittal. They may send it by mail, electronically, or another reasonable and secure written method. The law does not set a deadline or add any fees or penalties.
