Tax relief for Bedford Hills Fire District

The law lets the Town of Bedford assessor accept a late exemption application from the Bedford Hills Fire District. It applies only to the 2022-2023 roll for 352 Bedford Road (section 60.14, block 5, lot 83). The assessor reviews it as if filed on time. If the district would have qualified and the Town Board approves, the assessor can grant a school and property tax exemption and fix the roll. If the exemption is granted and taxes were paid, the responsible tax authority may refund them and cancel related fines, interest, or tax liens.
