Bus-lane defense for New York transit vehicles
Owners of Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) vehicles have a legal defense against specified New York City bus-lane liability notices. It covers standing, stopping, or parking violations under city rule 4-08 in bus rapid transit programs. It also covers rule 4-08(f)(4) violations under the related demonstration program. The driver must be an MTA employee doing authorized work involving the MTA vehicle in that bus lane. The defenses take effect on the same date and in the same manner as the referenced 2025 law. They end when that law’s related provisions are repealed.
