Beginning July 1, 2026, the A&M Board may let the OSU-Tulsa Trustees supervise and manage the campus. The Trustees set rules and policies for how they work. The law expects faster decisions to meet student, employee, and business needs. The A&M Board can assign duties such as student services, facility operations, student financial services, budget work, endowed chairs, and other administration.
Beginning July 1, 2026, OSU-Tulsa has a nine-member Board of Trustees. Seven members must live in Tulsa County or a bordering county. Position 8 is a member of the A&M Board who lives in the First Congressional District. Position 9 is appointed by the A&M Board chair. Both serve as voting ex officio members and are not limited by the dual office rule in Title 51 §6. The Governor appoints the other members with Senate consent. Trustees serve staggered seven-year terms that end June 30 of the seventh year. The Governor fills any vacancy with Senate consent.
Beginning July 1, 2026, the A&M Board selects the OSU-Tulsa president after a search. The search committee has at least two A&M Board members, including one who lives in the First Congressional District. The OSU-Tulsa Trustees appoint at least two of their members to the committee. The OSU president may add faculty, staff, and student members. The OSU president then recommends a candidate, in consultation with the committee, to both boards.
Beginning July 1, 2026, the Board is a body corporate and uses an official seal. It elects a chair, vice chair, and secretary each year. It adopts rules and keeps minutes for all meetings. It follows the Oklahoma Open Meeting Act and the Oklahoma Open Records Act.
