Beginning November 1, 2026, the Board does not renew a podiatry license if you cannot show you met the CE rules. Losing renewal stops you from legally practicing and can cut off your income.
Beginning November 1, 2026, Oklahoma podiatrists must complete 60 hours of CE every two years, earned in the two years before renewal. At least 2 hours must cover pain management or opioid use, unless you show the Board you do not hold a current DEA registration. At least 30 of the 60 hours must be earned in Oklahoma; if you practice only outside Oklahoma, you may use CE from those states. Courses that count include Council-approved programs, certain podiatry meetings, Board-approved hospital scientific programs, Board meetings (up to 6 hours), and Board-approved medical marijuana education.
Beginning November 1, 2026, fully retired podiatrists do not have to complete CE. If you resume practice, you must complete all CE that accrued from October 1, 1979 to your return date before you can practice.
