Precious Cargo coverage expands to communication disorders

Beginning July 1, 2026, Tennessee’s Precious Cargo Act expands its definition of “medical condition” to include communication disorders. These include speech, language, and fluency disorders, such as stuttering. This change applies specifically to Tennessee Code Annotated § 55-21-303(a)(2), not every provision of the act.
