Easier bedroom rules for relative caregivers

Tennessee courts cannot require a child's own bedroom when granting custody or guardianship to a qualifying relative caregiver. The Department of Children's Services faces the same limit when deciding whether kinship foster care serves the child's best interests. Both can still require a separate bedroom when specific safety or medical reasons make sharing with another child unsafe. The law took effect immediately upon becoming law.
