Beginning July 1, 2026, the Tennessee Supreme Court selects three trial judges, one from each grand division, to hear these special civil cases as a panel. The prior notice step to a district’s presiding judge is removed. These cases can be filed in any Tennessee county. Plaintiffs get more choice on where to sue.
