2026 permit rules for seasonal fireworks sellers

Beginning May 1, 2026, Tennessee uses a temporary seasonal-retailer definition for fireworks sellers. It covers retail sales during May 20–30, June 10–July 10, September 1–10, and December 10–January 3. A seasonal retailer permit costs $150 for calendar year 2026. Both the temporary definition and fee rule end on February 1, 2027. The state fire marshal can issue rules to carry out the law through Tennessee’s standard administrative rulemaking process.
