In-state tuition for more military families

Beginning May 7, 2025, Utah’s public colleges must grant in-state tuition to active-duty, reserve, and Utah National Guard members, plus their spouses and dependent children. No Utah service or assignment is required; accepted proof includes a current military ID, leave and earnings statement, orders, enlistment papers, or commander’s statement. Veterans, wherever they served, and their spouses and dependent children qualify with proof of an honorable or general discharge, without proving plans to live in Utah. People eligible for college benefits under Title 38 must also receive in-state tuition after showing eligibility and signing a statement that they will use those benefits. These benefit users no longer need to prove plans to make Utah their home.
