More primary care choices for insured patients
Beginning May 6, 2026, Utah law expands provider choices when your health insurance requires choosing a primary care provider for best coverage. Your plan must let you choose a participating physician assistant. The assistant must be qualified and willing to provide primary care as your plan defines it. They must have trained in a primary care doctor's office and completed the legally required collaboration.
