New sex-at-birth limits for shared housing

Private landlords and property managers can limit covered shared housing to people of one biological sex at birth. This covers dorms, boarding houses, shared rentals, and similar group housing where residents share a bedroom or bathroom. They can exclude renters whose sex at birth does not match the housing designation, including some transgender renters. The exemption generally excludes housing owned or run by state or local governments.
