More retaliation protections for Utah public workers

Beginning May 6, 2026, Utah public employees gain protection against retaliatory complaints to the person or agency licensing their work. Threats to make these complaints are also covered. The complaint or threat must violate Utah Code Section 67-21-3, the existing ban on employee retaliation. Employees can raise these retaliation complaints through the grievance process.
