Less personal data in debt judgments

Beginning July 1, 2026, Utah limits personal details in required information statements for judgments against individuals. These statements use only the last four Social Security digits and birth month and year, rather than full numbers and birthdates. The driver’s license number is still required when known or available. Creditors must provide available information or state that it is unknown or unavailable. The existing safeguard remains: covered money judgments missing required information do not create real-property liens until a compliant statement is recorded.
