Pay support for teachers and classroom aides

Beginning July 1, 2026, Utah replaces its flexible school allocation with Teacher and Classroom Salary Support. The State Board of Education must distribute the money to local education agencies based on their weighted pupil units. These units are each agency's share of the Basic School Program funding formula. Agencies may use the money to support pay for classroom teachers, instructional aides, and paraprofessionals. Funding depends on annual appropriations tied to inflation and enrollment growth; the law provides no money directly or guaranteed raises.
